“Stanton Williams – well known for their calm, clear lines and precise detailing and use of materials – have here created a forceful design that complements the character of the building. The aim has been to create a place of character by architectural means, primarily the articulation of space and light, rather that by adopting current stylistic fads”Architecture Today

In Birmingham we were asked to create a strong identity for each department and clear definition for shoppers with intelligible, logical spaces and walkways.

We worked within the curved structure of the store’s shell to create a dramatically different look and feel to the male and female environments with clear orientation between the two.

The space was divided with a powerful red active display wall. The ceiling structure was exposed and articulated in the menswear department to create an urban, industrial look. The beauty hall brands were united under the sweeping lines of the ceiling with concealed services.
