The brief was to redesign level 3 of the building to offer an improved shopping environment.
We created a cohesive, flexible space that united the series of concessions. The ceiling was used to maximum effect – ordering the space with drop-down partitions and glass screens, concealing M&E equipment and illuminating the space. The orientation of display was changed to entice people away from the central spine with clear routes to left and right.
The dramatic horizontal lines of the ceiling were mirrored on the floor to create harmony within the space.
As Selfridges’ flagship store, the interior design had to contribute to making it the definitive shopping destination – the new designs unite the vast space and have enhanced visitor circulation.
