Eton Manor Paralympics Venue a success

Eton Manor, the only dedicated Paralympics Venue, has successfully hosted the Wheelchair tennis competition and provided aquatics training facilities during the London 2012 Games. It will now be transformed into a permanent, flexible 3,500 seat hockey stadium for Lee Valley and indoor tennis centre, including changing facilities, along with other community sporting and leisure facilities. Lee Valley Hockey Centre will host the 2015 European Hockey Championships - the first major sporting event to take place at the Olympic Park after the 2012 Games.

After winning the bronze medal with tennis partner Jordanne Whiley, Paralympic GB's Lucy Shuker said: "Eton Manor is the best venue I've ever played at and the crowds have been out of this world. We want to thank everyone who has supported us."

GB Hockey’s chief operating officer Sally Munday said: "We’ll bid for every international tournament on offer. We aim to make Eton Manor the Wembley Stadium of hockey."
