Next week Stanton Williams' Director Patrick Richard will be taking part in the 2016 instalment of the Architect@Work event. On Wednesday 27 January, as part of the seminar programme, Patrick will be 'In Conversation' with Tom Dyckhoff, architectural historian and broadcaster.

Over the last few years Stanton Williams have been involved in several projects in Switzerland, Germany and more recently in France, and have learned some of the advantages and disadvantages of working abroad. On every project we aim to immerse ourselves in the local culture and context while bringing in our own personal experience, favouring the concept of Genius Loci rather than an "international style" or a global architecture that can be reproduced regardless of its context. This in-conversation, titled 'Here and There', will cover the positives and negatives of architects working abroad, outside their familiar context, and their ability to produce relevant architecture that local people can identify with.

Also being hosted at the Architect@Work event, is the World-Architects touring exhibition, which features Stanton Williams Stirling Prize winning project the Sainsbury Laboratory.
