We are pleased to announce a collaboration with French developer Réalités and Urban Design, Architecture and Landscape specialists Forma 6 to design a new residential quarter at Rue Massanet, Nantes, France. The project will deliver over 160 contemporary family homes outside the urban heart of Nantes, in an unique site between a quiet residential area and the beautiful Cens river valley, bordering protected woodland. Stanton Williams’ scheme aims to preserve the unique qualities of this natural setting. The 9,000sqm project will prioritise generous vistas and elements of community use to reinforce the link between the neighbourhood and the outstanding landscape.
Speaking of the appointment, Principal Director Patrick Richard said: “We are excited to be returning to the magnificent city of Nantes once again, after the completion of our Musée d’arts de Nantes in 2017, and to be embarking on such a meaningful project on an exceptional site, at the interface between nature and the city.”
Stanton Williams was appointed after winning an invited design competition. The scheme is set to complete in 2024 and we will be looking forward to revealing further details later in the year.
