Following our appointment by the British Museum, we are pleased to announce that the Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World will open on 18 October 2018.
Working closely with the museum’s curators, and producing life-size mock-ups in the process, our design seeks to reframe the collection and to display it to its full potential. Dynamic and engaging exhibits, organised within a chronological and thematic structure aim to create meaningful connections across the collection spanning from seventh century Arabia to the present day.
Supported by new digital media, key objects are emphasised and presented with more in-depth interpretation and there are dedicated spaces for school and community groups to engage with the extensive collection.
Stanton Williams also previously designed the Waddesdon Bequest Gallery for the British Museum, which opened in 2015.
